Election Night 2016: The Change America Needed

I’m sitting here wearing a shirt baring his likeness and reminiscing over Donald Trump’s 2016 Presidential Campaign.

It was magic to me.

For the first time in my life there was a man running for office that was speaking directly to me. He was going to protect my family and my values. Donald Trump was going to put America first.

The lead up to Election Day was exhilarating and infuriating all at once. I’ve never wanted a candidate to win a race more, but it seemed like everything was stacked against him.

No matter what Trump did, it made national news and it always had a negative twist.

He was sexist for joking with a reporter, he was racist for wanting to keep criminals out of the country and he was “unhinged” because he had the audacity to tell people the truth that they were not ready to hear.

While all this was going on, the media was ignoring the real stories. You had to search to find any mention of Hillary Clinton’s email server and god forbid you start asking question about Benghazi.

Trump was treated incredibly unfairly, but he seemed undaunted as he perceived and moved forward in his campaign. This gave me confidence going into Election Day.

The fake news media was beginning to be exposed and I was not buying the lies that Donald Trump was behind.

The Huffington Post said Trump had a 1% chance to win. The entire media sang a similar song, but this was all part of the plan to suppress us. They wanted us to feel defeated before votes were even cast.

I knew Donald Trump had the election won when I went to cast my vote that morning. My polling location, in a Democratic County, was a sea of MAGA hats.

My people were coming out in droves and this was going to be our night.

My wife and I watched on the couch that night. I was so confident that I popped champagne the second polls started to close on the east coast. Jen was worried I would jinx the whole thing, but I knew this was going to be a night to celebrate......... and it was.

Proving all the “experts” in the fake media wrong, Donald Trump was elected 45th President of the United States on November 8, 2016.

That night was the most proud I have ever been to be an American.

We did not listen to the media that was lying to us. We did not accept the candidates that were forced down our throat. We did not settle for less than we deserved.

That night, Americans made the decision that was best for Americans and we were rewarded for the next 4 years. We will cover that next time.

Thank you for supporting my blog and joining DC Swamp Life on our mission to recruit 7 million conservative voters before the 2024 Election.

Without you, America Dies!
